ENGINEERING SUPPORTMore than 20 engineers work on the development and new technologies in two separate departments: R&D (design and research of innovative technologies and solutions) and Design Support (project support during the design phase). The R&D Center develops facade research and composite systems, monitors the latest technologies in facade engineering (fire-resistant foam, ventilation facade...), controls recommendations for construction systems, and ensures operational oversight of systems existing on the market. It also develops new offerings for the design of innovative products for emerging markets (lighting systems, signage) as well as automation and home automation technologies.

Design Support provides technical support to comply with project specifications: specification verification, technical drawings, structural and thermal calculation, testing and certification, technical support, submission for approval. Our team of engineers accompanies each project from the design phase to final validation, ensuring compliance with European and international standards.

ALCAO R&D Center uses FLIXO Pro 8.0.923.1 by Infomind — Fully validated thermal analysis software (License No.: 3-3987929). This is software used for thermal bridge analysis and report generation. It is a tool for analyzing the thermal properties of a design or construction and for documenting these results. It calculates and provides an overview of temperatures and heat flux densities, and models two-dimensional heat transfer effects in building components such as windows, walls, foundations, roofs and doors. Its analysis is based on the finite element method. Other software used include: Autocad, Solid Edge, Revit (BIM), Staad Pro, SAP 2000, SJ Mepla and Proges.
